[SOLVED] User's private email addresses showing when replying with quote
Forum Administrators: When replying to a post by using the "Quote" feature, the user's private email address is shown in the reply instead of their Nickname. I'll attach a reply to this message to demonstrate.

Michael knows about the some of the email/username problems and will hopefully get them fixed soon. I didn't know about the quoting problem.

Interesting to see your names come up as "beginners". some of the noobies will not know that they have a couple "vets" when you posts replys.

Regarding titles - it's automatic and based on amount of posts. It would change fast for active members

The email addresses also appear if you hover over a user name on the info bar at the bottom of a page if using IE8, Firefox and Opera 9.10. If you use Safari then as it doesn't have the info bar the addresses don't appear.

The email address also appears when you click to send member a Private Message.

And what about an interace to insert URLs, mark code, mark quotes, etc.

Michael,
Thank you for getting the changes done. It's better than it was, but it's still not fixed. The email address is still plainly visible in the source code for the page:
<input type="hidden" name="recipient" id="edit-recipient" value="XXXXXXXXXX@hotmail.com" />
This needs to be fixed. While I understand the solution may not be easy, it still needs to be done. Having the email address in the source makes it easily available to anyone (including spammers). It should remain private, which means no one can see it.

To look at Mudcrab and Kolo's name with some 2 digit number for number of posts was shocking to me. I think Acronis should have transferred the number of posts for the members here (no, not me) who put in the time to make the Acronis forum the solution it became to so many troubled users looking for answers . The amount of time and effort they put into those posts... the accomplishment of that many... it shouldn't just "go away" like it never existed. There really are only a handful of members who deserve this - and deserve this they do.
You should make it happen Acronis - because they made it happen for you - their hard work makes you look good... the past counts - so show it. And don't bother me with tech speak as to why you can't - you should figure it out... it's the only appropriate thing to do here.

But they still didn't do anything. I guess a nice 2nd choice would be to put their names on a "Sticky thread" showing how long they have been with Acronis and their total from the other forum. They can call it, "The Acronis Vets."
I am now rocking a VistaPE with help I get off this forum. Their contributions on a daily basis should be celebrated! And Every. Post. Counts.
