Migrate Easy 7.0 telling me I only have one drive...

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I've just purchased a new computer and want to clone the existing hard drive to a new one so that I have a clean install on a spare drive.

Original drive: Hitachi HDT721050SLA360 500GB
New clone drive: Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB Caviar Blue

Only problem is, when I try and use Migrate Easy 7.0 (full version) from bootable CD, it tells me I only have one drive. It does not see the new drive. It's in the BIOS...

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance
Peter

Do you have a legacy option in the BIOS? You might need to change your Sata drives from AHCI to IDE temporarily in the BIOS.

Hello,

I have a similar problem, I have a IBM / Lenovo R61i Laptop running WinXp Pro with a 75GB Hard Drive and seem to be unable to clone the content to my new Western Digital WD2500BEVT 250GB Hard Drive via USB, I created a boot cd from the program Migrate Easy 7.0 which I downloaded (Build 644) it only detects my old drive.
Iseem to be able to clone the drive contents successfully when in windows / switch to dos like environment, but, the cloned hard drive will not load Windows XP, it never gets past the black screen, just before the Xp loas screen.
Is there another version available with updated drivers, or a service pack with updates ?

Thank you very much

U Harneit
