Recovering a Single File to a New Location
As with ALL lower cost Backup/Restore systems I have had experience with, when it comes to restore, there always seems to be a "BIG" problem. Friends, this is the time NOT to be having problems, because this is the ONLY reason we care about this kind of software.
I find it is next to impossible to recover a file from the True Image User Interface GUI. All I get is a waiting clock with a "not responding" condition. The documentation "sucks" for a single file recover to a new location, or any location actually.
I am only able to recover a single file from Windows Explorer by browsing through the backup device. It takes a bit of "assumptions" about which date, or "backup slice" I am trying to restore. Doing a recovery of a file is "extremely slow". Clicking on a folder, or "slice" and drilling down to your file takes entirely too long. I had to "click" and then "walkway" until I got to the file of interest.
I am curious if others are having this problem. I would like to know how I can recover a file from the Acronis desktop GUI, and recover it to a new location instead of replacing where it was backed up from. And, it would be nice to know how to make the GUI respond without "clocking forever" with a "not responding" message.
If there is no answer to this, looks like I have wasted another $175 on "do nothing" software.
