[RESOLVED] snapman.sys BSOD of latest build of TI 2013

Thread needs solution

I get frequent BSOD from snapman.sys. I have the latest build of TI 2013. I see lot's of older forum messages about this but can't find a search that shows it with 2013.

I'm using a Lenovo laptop. I love TI 2013 and its ability to quickly backup and restore.

I'd hate to have to stop using it. Is there a solution to the snapman.sys BSOD?

I don't need scheduled backups. I've tried disabling all accronis startup and services so that I can use them only when I want ot backup or restore. It doesn't help. Snapman.sys still causes BSOD 50% of boots.

Thanks,

-michael

Michael,

Which model Lenovo do you have?

What build number is your Snapman.sys?

What Lenovo utilities do you have enabled?

I have been experiencing the same. Have had 4 bluescreens since update. I wasn't sure if it was Acronis but they started after the upgrade. I'm running Windows 7 64bit on Desktop Gigabyte 965P-DQ6, Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, KINGSTON SVP200S3240G SSD and snapman.sys v4.4.0.1059 or Product v4.4 build 1059 TI uses high cpu while running and doing nothing.

I have been trying to create a support request 5 times now doesnt seem to work. Hope we have a solution soon very frustrating. Should I downgrade?

Uninstall 2013, use the cleanup utility found here, reboot reinstall.

Hi Anton, Yes I did, I just tried again and it did work, Thanks. My question was not as descriptive as my for attempt, had to type it out 6 times. Hopefully the info they need is in the system report. there were no minidumps created during the boot process. Today I had an E-Sata 2T drive connected during boot and couldn't get past the snapman.sys blue screen=> stop: 0x0000007E (0xFFFFFFFFC0000005, 0xFFFFF88001FB409C, 0xFFFFF880009A9458, 0xFFFFF880009A8CB0)
snapman.sys - address FFFFF88001FB609C base at FFFFF88001F9B000, datestamp 5024D0DC
after switching the drive off I managed to boot, could this be a clue? it was connected through the boards 2nd controller JMicron JMB36X Controller I have 2 IDE drives connected through the same. Not sure if any of this helps.

Pat L I tried cleanup of TI2013 and Plus but didn't help first reboot after install bluescreen on boot

Regards Rob

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your response.

I am sending a file to you via Private messages, please install it and see if the issue remains.

If the issue still persists, please obtain kernel or full dump file, we can't investigate the issue without a dump file:

Please do the following in order to enable Kernel (or full) memory dumps:
- Right click on "My Computer" and choose "Properties";
- Go to "Advanced" tab;
- Go to "Startup" and "Recover Settings";
- Choose "Kernel memory dump" or "Full memory dump" in "Write debugging information" box;
- Close all the dialog windows by clicking OK buttons.
Now, please reproduce the system crash and send us the dump files created. This will allow us to investigate the problem thoroughly.

Thank you.

I have been supplied with an updated snapman.sys from Oleg (Acronis) and all seems to work correctly. Thanks for prompt support.

Rob
