Raw External HDD after Image Creation ATI14
Hey Guys,
I have read of issues with certain storage devices related to ATI 12/13 and now im presuming this carried onto 14 also.
I seem to be having this issue I had a perfectly fine NTFS formatted external HD which I wanted to save some images on.
I got True Image to put a .tib image on there and now since I put the image on the external hard drive I cannot read the external hard drive in windows, in disk management it sees the partition as raw.
However as a test... I plugged it into a mac which uses different file systems I can see and use the image files perfectly fine here. I can also boot into acronis and restore my images.
It almost seems like Acronis changed the file system on my external hard drive which I doubt.
Any ideas?

Sort of unclear about your issue. Sounds like Windows does not see your drive correctly but Acronis True Image does. In that case would be a Windows problem not ATI.

Cheers for the response
Windows could see the drive fine prior to putting an image on the disk.
I have read of known driver issues with ATI / hard drives / usb storage. Apparently this has existed since ATi11
If I could even confirm this is the case it would be good.
Basically where I work we would like to image onto a nas box, given acronis seems to have altered the disk structure on a usb drive I am reluctant to consider this until we can resolve this issue.

Any chance the problem disk is a WD passport?

The problem disk is a Sony External HD USB 3.0 very new model HD-EG5, I guess its possible Acronis has even a driver issue with this type of disk as it is probably newer than ATI 14.
I would be interested to test this further with another HD, unfortunately I have no others.
Thanks for the response guys.
Again if somebody from Acronis could clarify this it would be great.
This just seems like a huge bug to me.
Grover mate what your referencing is the same known issue I think this falls under.
I had a link to an acronis support article where it describes the issue as affecting "certain types of removable disk/storage systems".
Recall something about WD disks also....

This is a Sony 500GB external usb self powered disk. Most likely is is the Advanced Format type drives whichis 4K sector size. This article may help.

What do you know about the disk information?
Was it pre-formatted?
You need help from someone more skilled than me as a volunteer.
