Even though your account is an administrator, you should still start the install with the "Run as administrator" method.

Hmmmm interesting ... I always thought that when you are logged in with an account that has administrator rights then you are .. well, an administrator. Do we then have different levels of administrators and corresponding rights ? Would appreciate some enlightenment on this - thank you !

Heiner, short answer is that there are levels of administrator privileges. In addition to your account, which has administrator privileges, there is a system Administrator account which has greater privileges.
If your account would always act with full administrator privileges, there would be no need for the "Run as administrator" option. Notice on the start menu (right click) for Command prompt, there are two options. You can do far more with the Admin option.
In reality, it is far more complicated under the hood and I won't even pretend to understand it.

You would need to contact Crucial Support for the issue as they are the support arm for OEM products.
