Can not choose my Local Cloud Data Center

Thread solved

Hope someone can give me some advice.

Recently signed up to cloud storage to backup my main drive

According to the Cyber Cloud data centers map, there is a London location, but the closest I can connect to is the one in France, London is not listed in list of DCs I can select.

Also when I start backup, the online dashboard keeps giving a connection error. even though I have 250mb upload speed, which from the looks of it not being utilised for the back up.

It is possible that the two issues you raise are related. Presumably your "home" sever is the London one, and if there some issues with that server it could explain the connection issues and why the London Data center is not being offered.

May I suggest that you check the connection to the London sever using the Acronis Cloud Connection Verification Tool. I understand that London is EU3.

I've tried as you suggested, and what I found was this

EU1 I can't download the check program

EU2 seems to be best choice as the check is immediate

EU3 has considerable time lag between connections

But what's odd, following the instruction to figure out which Cloud Storage I'm connected to.

Has told I'm connected to EU4 which in not listed in the collection of check programs.

Is there way to find what location EU1-4 correspond to.

Mohammed, as far as I understand, EU4 is the Dashboard server and is the server that I see for my own Cloud backups which are directed to the London server!

KB 4350: Acronis Backup to Cloud access ports and hostnames - has a list of most of the major data centres but also is missing EU4 for some reason!

If I look at the Backup Worker logs for my cloud backup tasks, it shows me that these are going to the EU3 London data centre.

The data centre does not show as 'London' but as 'United Kingdom'.

Should mention, I have a 1TB drive and signed up to a 2TB storage subscription.

Unfortunately United Kingdom is not listed as one of the Data Centers I can use

And using the dashboard isn't an option for me, as I keep getting these errors
Plus, I can't access a list of data centers through the dash board

I am still seeing an option for the UK in my list of data centres for a new backup, though it does also default to France for reasons that baffle me, as my Acronis profile / account have always been set to the UK..!

I wonder if this is another 'benefit' of Brexit where having an .eu email address is dropping the UK off the list?  But if so, then why include the non EU options for the USA etc...!

I would suggest raising this directly with Acronis as it is not something that users can resolve by ourselves!

I am seeing United Kingdom in my list of locations; my default is correct - that is Australia. Available locations appeared immediately. Not sure that it gets us anywhere.

Ian

Thanks you info.

Good to hear Mohammed!
