Backup file not listed for recovery

Thread solved

I'm attempting to restore a full system image from an external SSD using Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office recovery media. The external SSD containing the backup is found but no files are listed for recovery. It should show "full backup.tibx". The Acronis system report, in disks.txt, shows the SSD with the correct used disk space. I checked the Acronis Knowledge Base but couldn't find an explanation. Any idea why the backup file is not listed?

Thomas, welcome to these public User Forums.

I am not aware of any known issues in the area that you describe above.

What build version of ACPHO do you have installed and was used to create the recovery media?  The current latest build is #40729.

What type of recovery media are you using?  There are 3 possible types:  Linux based, i.e. created from an ISO image downloaded from your Acronis Account; Simple - Windows PE media created using files from your Windows Recovery Environment; or Advanced - Windows PE media created after installing the Windows ADK & PE Kits from Microsoft.

Of the above, the Simple WinPE / WinRE media is recommended.

Can you see the backup .tibx file on the SSD using Windows Explorer when in the Windows desktop environment?

Final question: what file system is being used for the external SSD where your backup .tibx file is stored and what size is the SSD?

Hello!

Apart of the solutions that Steve mentioned also check the following:

- Ensure that the external SSD is properly connected and recognized by the recovery media. Sometimes, issues with USB connections or external drive recognition can lead to problems accessing the backup files.

- The backup file may be corrupted. Run a validation or integrity check on the backup file to ensure its integrity. Acronis usually provides options to verify the backup file during the creation or restoration process.

If after validating the file you don't detect corruption and the problem persists, please raise a ticket with our support at https://kb.acronis.com/content/8153

Best regards.

I was using AcronisCyberProtectHomeOffice-40729.iso.

After reading "61667: Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, Acronis True Image: exFAT partitions are detected as empty by Linux-based media", I reformatted the SSD containing the backup from exFAT to NTFS. That solved the problem. Full image recovery was successful!

Thank you Steve and Jose for your support.
