Unable to upgrade to True Image 2013

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I bought the True Image 2013 upgrade option this morning but can't get it installed. When I try to install it I get an error message stating that True Image 2011 ver 14.0.5105 must be unistalled. When I go to Windows programs and attempt to uninstall. I see the progress bar move, the 2011 icons are removed from my desktop. But prior to completing a strange thing happens. The progress bar gets rolled back and the 2011 icons re-appear on my desktop and the install fails. What's going on?

I have Windows 7 64 bit

Before installing 2013, uninstall your current version and then run the Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility for 2011-2013: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876
Be careful to follow all instructions, including not allowing the utility to reboot until you've made the Registry edits.

If you have the Acronis Secure Zone or Startup Recovery Manager enabled, disable them before uninstalling.

Thanks for your reply but my problem is Acronis True Image 2011 v 14.0.5105 is my current version. Windows goes through the process of attempting to unistall it but for some unknown reason backs out of the unistall. I checked my EvntViewer and no errors were logged.

Dan,

The cleaner should auto uninstall 2011, but if you wish to play safe, run the 2011 installer, this should give you a repair or uninstall option, run the repair option, then run the installer again and select uninstall.
