How to recover any data from "corrupted" backup
Just finished talking with India about an allegedly corrupted backup. I doubt it's corrupted, as it seems to be the infamous Sector 63 error that I've read a lot about. Yes, I backed up to an external drive. I mean, I did it with Ghost all the time, so why should Acronis have trouble with it, I figured.
ANYWAY, does any one know of any utilities that can read from the backup files outside of Acronis and their flawed product? It's doing this for several backups I've created, and I seriously doubt that all of them are damaged, especially when chkdsk says everything is A-OK.
second, how prevalent is this problem really? We use Acronis at work, and, frankly, if it is this risky, then we need to get a new backup solution.

Yeah, I don't think the data is really corrupted. I think it's just the stupid Sector63 issue that I've read a lot about. Is that problem fixed in B&R10 for restores at least?

Try exploring the archive file with Windows Explorer or using TI's Mount command which should mount the archive as a virtual disk and be visible in Explorer.

yeah, trying that does more of the "please select the first volume" crap. looking at the disk, there are some files in the dreaded "Found" folder. Any idea if I can easily merge those guys back in? I've got drive recovery software, but I doubt that will do anything...
