Cloning failed custom as is cloning after first partition.

Thread needs solution

I used clone disk, custom, as is. I have 5 partitions on my hard drive and I am trying to make an exact copy on to an 80 gb hardrive. I am putting my source 2.5 drive in the laptop and booting by cd and the destination drive is through usb. It was taking several hours and I let it go all night and when I woke up, it said something like cloning failed but when I checked the first 29 gb partition was successfull. Is there any way I can start where I left off or can I do one partition at a time until I have all five done? Or can I only do the complete hard drive at one time? Thanks for any info. Tyler

My cloning failed also. HD with dual boot windows xp pro and linux Umbutu. Failed in auto and custom. Also it appears there is no support for home 2012 even though it is a recent purchase. Help

Have you tried doing a backup and then restoring instead of cloning?

Yes you can backup and restore individual parititions.

I have tried that also. I tried partition mode and disk mode. When trying disk mode it starts and then immediatly fails. I havn't tried just doing one partition.

Tyler,
You should consider checking your source disk for disk errors. From a command prompt
CKHKDSK C: /R

If you have no current backups, consider using the bootable medial CD and use it to make your backups until you find a solution.
