Backup tasks failed

Thread needs solution

Hello,

we have problems on one of our servers while trying to create a image of this system.
System: Windows 2003 Std R2 fully patched
Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0.0.11345 Advanced Server
Empirum
We have had similar errors on this system using the builds 11105 and 11133.
That's why we upgraded to 11345 yesterday.
Actions we took to solve:
- enable 'use VSS' (default: disabled)
- disable the Virus scanner (default: enabled)
- disable the Multi-Volume-Snapshot (default: enabled)

We have a few systems (some with similar software installed) with various builds from 10286 to 11345 and none of these shows this error.

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

There are several steps you should perform to fix the issue. Please do the following:

1) Please enable Microsoft native VSS instead of the default Acronis VSS.

By default, Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 uses Acronis VSS Provider which interacts with Microsoft VSS to create volume shadow copies of the data, however the actual VSS snapshot created by Microsoft VSS is not used (Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 uses its own snapshot).

You can learn more on how to do it in this article. Sere if the issue remains.

2) Please use the appropriate batch files for suspending and resuming Windows services, the batch files and the description on how to apply the files are available in this article.

3) Please try to run the program with the VSS option enabled and Multi-volume snapshot disabled in the  default backup options.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you. If the issue persists, please let me know about it via  Private Message, I will provide you with the latest build of SnapAPI module, it can also solve the issue.

Hello Oleg,

unfortunately the steps you mentioned above were not successful.
I changed the Server to use native VSS but the Backup stopped with the Error "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service"
The Hints in the Acronis KB-Article 2864 has been applied and the Value for PoolUsageMaximum in the Registry has been set to 60 as recommended in the MS KB-Article 304101.

At the moment the only working solution on this Server are independent Backup-Tasks:
- Disk-Image from Drive C (System) with verify
- File-Backup from Drive E (Data) without verify
VSS and Multi-Volume-Snapshot are disabled

Thank you for keeping us updated regarding the issue state.

I would like to suggest you one additional solution: the snapapi update, it may help to resolve the issue.

Please kindly check this article and download the SnapApi 512. Install it onto the machine in question, recreate the task and reproduce the issue, please.

I would like to kindly ask to pay accurate attention to the fact, that this version of snapapi was created for Acronis Backup and Recovery products line only.

Should the issue persist, we will need to take a closer look at the issue, so could you please kindly provide us with the following information: 

  • - Download AcronisInfo
    - Run the downloaded file.

    The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.

    This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.

  • Please kindly gather SnapApi logs for us: Run the installation file of the SnapApi select the "Enable Logging" option when going through the installation wizard. reproduce the issue and get the log file without closing the error window. The log file will be created on the C:\ partition and have the name in "snapapi[date-time].log" format.

i have attached the error log file below. I had used the licensed product previously and backup 2 servers perfectly. Now i am experimenting with the trial version before buying. Please advice. If i lack any content or anything, you can contact me via service@medisol-solution.com.
