Mystery Mail Notification Problem

Thread needs solution

Hello,

i have Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 since 1 week.
Now i configurate Mail Notification, i mean i tried it ;-)

If i would sent a Test Message, Acronis says the Message is send correctly.... But no Message arrives in my Mail Box.

So have on a idea?

I have carefully checked all our internal resources: there are no mentions of a known issue that would match your description. I would advise you to make sure that the e-mail notification settings are set as mentioned in this KB article (it describes e-mail settings in ABR10, but will also suit ABR11), and check the spam-folder.

If the issue remains, please gather Acronis Info and screenshots of the e-mail settings, then submit a case with the information attached, and let us know its number.

Sorry, i have problems to open a new case, so i posted here the configuration:

I have the german version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11:

E-Mail-Einstellungen:

E-Mail-Adresse: vorname.nachname@domain.de
Betreff: [ARB11:] Altertalarm
SMTP-Server: smtp.strato.de
Port: 25
Benutzername: nickname@domain2.de
Passwort: password

Erweiterte E-Mail-Parameter:
Von(From): nickname@domain2.de
Verschlüsselung: TLS
Anmeldung beim Posteingangsserver:
Posteingangsserver: pop3.strato.de
Port: 110
Benutzername: nickname@domain2.de
Passwort: password

With this configurations Acronis says the mail send correctly, but no mail arrived at my mailbox.

It looks like everything is set correctly, so we need to check the software logs. Could you please obtain Acronis Info as per my instructions in this comment, Wireshark log, and attach the information here to the thread to your next comment? We will be able to review the information and possibly find an appropriate solution.

Hi Peter,

I also have the German version of BuR 11 and suffer from the same issue. The Mail-Settings are only applied, on initial setup of a backup-task. When you alter the settings later, the changes are not applied to the task. For example:

1. setup a task with mail receipant: user1@domain.de
2. alter the task and replace the mail receipant to user2@domain.de

the mails are sent, but still to user1....

The solution is to clone the tasks - then it works (tested myself)
