Backup won't validate for search or recover

Thread needs solution

I used True Image 2018 to create a backup in 2018 on a portable HDD.  I now want to restore some files from that backup using using True Image 2019.  Everything goes fine when I Added the backup and clicked the Recovery Tab.  When I started to expand the folders displayed and error pops up "Can't find 45".  I saw the article on database issues in the Knowledge Base and backup up a step to Validate the backup.  Is starts a progress bar but after a few seconds produces the same error message.  I haven't deleted or manipulated the files and they are in their original folder G:\Acronis\.  Any ideas?

Clay, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you only want to restore some files from your old backup image file, then try double-clicking on the .tib in Explorer to open the image, then navigate through the image file that way, where you can use Copy & Paste for any of the files you want from the file.

The 'can't find version x' is normally caused by files having been deleted manually where the internal database used by the ATI GUI app doesn't get updated to reflect the file deletions.

Please ensure that if you are working with an Incremental or Differential backup file that you have the other files for the same chain present in your backup location, i.e. all the files sharing the same _b?_ number, and these are sequential and complete with no gaps.

The backup is incremental and appears to be sequential with no gaps.  Attempting your suggesting of using the Explorer within Acronis I cannot get that far.  As soon as I attempt to expand one of the folders withing the backup I get the error message.  Oddly it suggestions that I have the option of ignoring and proceeding, but that option is not presented by the buttons in that window.  Please see the attached screen shot.

Clay, you would need to use the Cancel option in order to Ignore missing versions for the backup, and potentially keep doing so until all the error messages are gone!
