Can't read slices: Error 0x40003
Hello,
a full backup stops after seconds with the following log:

I checked the source and destination disk with chkdsk /f /r and the WD Data Lifegaurd Tools. No errors.
Any ideas?

Hello and thanks for the response.
Meanwhile we switched to another backup solution. Before that, I opened a support ticket. But the "Acronis support" only produced a lot of troubleshooting work for me without getting nearer to the solution. For, this is a customer PC, that is affected, i cannot spend hours for troubleshooting.

I had this error today. The problem turned out to be an executable file called "C:\Program".
I think my AntiVirus software "Webroot" was responsible for placing this file the last time it happened. (I think I mentioned this elsewhere on the forum).
I assume this file can cause issues when applications don't properly quote paths when running programs using a full path?
So for example, instead of running
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\someProgram.exe",
it will run "C:\Program". The rest of the line gets passed as a parameter.
I deleted "C:\Program" and the Acronis issue was resolved. It was failing solidly until then.

Thanks for this interesting post. Webroot is also instaled on the affected machine.
Could you please explain your solution once more? Where did you delete what?
