Every time my system is backed up it creates another duplicate generation though it is set as 'full backup'

Thread needs solution

Every time my system is backed up it creates another generation (appearing to be a duplicate) though it is set as 'full backup' each time. It's taking up unnecessary space. How do I fix.

Please provide more information. Was the backup task created using ATI 2020 (or an earlier version), what type of backup is it; Full PC, Disk and Partitions, or Files and folders. In the settings did you select incremental backup (from what you say I am assuming that is the case), and how many incremental backup in each chain, how often is the backup scheduled to run? May I suggest that you check the settings for the task (and attach a screen shot).

Daniel, welcome to these public User Forums.

Your list of files from the initial post of this topic looks correct for a series of Full backups using the new .tibx file format.

See the following KB documents published by Acronis with regards to .tibx files.

With regards to the space being taken by your files, please check your Backup Scheme settings for this task, i.e. do you have automatic cleanup turned on, and if so, what settings are used?
