Upgraiding form acronis true image 2013
Thinking of finally upgrading from my very old true image 2013 version to the latest one.
Is there a step by step guide to doing this. Do i have to delete old version first and if so how do i keep current backups and settings then.
Also i am using a very old laptop running windows 7 does that matter.
Thinking i buying a new machine soon as windows 7 no longer being supported as of next year.
Should i wait until then? Then do i have to buy a new licence or can transfer existing one and upgrade?
Malcolm

I agree with Ian. Nope, you can't upgrade 2013 directly and can't export and import the settings. There was a major change of the interface in 2015 and ability to export and import settings only started in the application in 2019.
I would hold off on 2020 until at least the next update (still a bit too buggy IMHO) and/or until you can catch a deal on it. In the meantime, I would take a full system backup with 2013, then give the 2020 trial a spin.
To install 2020, run the cleanup tool in my signature (it is the latest). Make sure to right-click and "run as administrator" even if logged in as admin, and reboot when it's done. Then you should be good to install the trial of ATI 2020 (again, make sure to right-click and "run as administrator" for the installer). Give it spin and if you like it, then you can buy a license. Otherwise, you'll either need to restore your 2013 backup, or go through the process of removing 2020 (cleanup tool, reboot, reinstall) and then starting with fresh scripts and new backups in 2013.
