Acronis TI 2010 - Scheduled Jobs won't run even after schedmgr task zap
I searched for an answer to this question, but I haven't found any answers that worked.
I am running a trial of Acronis True Image Home 2010 build 5,055. I have 21 days left on my evaluation.
I was using Norton Ghost 14 and I'm hoping to ditch it and switch to Acronis permanently but I'm still evaluating it.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit.
I used acronis to do an image backup of my laptop to an USB HD and then restore it. I then ran another backup of that which worked fine. (I did accidentally destory the original backup in this process but I don't think that's related. I think I just forgot to tell it to append the 2nd backup to the 1st so it created a new one and deleted the old one.)
I then scheduled a Differential backup to run every week. The backup should have run last night, but my laptop was turned off.
I turned it on today and it did not automaticly start running the backup. I opened Acronis and selected the backup task and clicked Start. The screen didn't change, so I right clicked and selected Refresh. The task Status then read Queued.
The task stayed Queued for long enough that I decided that it wasn't going to run. I tried Starting it again.
I tried deleting the task and recreating it, but that didn't work.
I found this forum post which sounded similiar to my problem: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/4625
I tried the solution suggested there. When I performed the steps, after I uninstalled the scheduler, the install command ruturned a message stating that the service was marked for uninstall so I rebooted and completed the steps starting with the install step. I recreated the task but it still wouldn't run.
So I am here posting this and hoping someone knows what is wrong.

Hello Thomas,
Thank you for using Acronis True Image
I would also recommend you update Acronis scheduler using the following KB article
Then create new schedule tasks and let us know if the issue remains.
