Acronis True Image Home 2011 Non Stop Back Up stop : error code 0x00E40022+0x00000009

add my name to the list of those who are having this problem with nonstop backup. Since this is the reason we bought acronis instead of a competitor like ghost AND this problem did NOT happen with the trial version we are very displeased atm.

Thank you for your response. Do you have any work around yet? I understand where fixing the problem might be difficult but it would be nice to get NonStop backup running sometimes even if I have to remember to check it every few days.

It is now over 2 months since this topic was raised and Acronis have released a build 6696 but still not fixed the issue.

So the conclusion that I come to is that Acronis is not serious about fixing the problem. Non stop backup was one of the key features of the software so without it working the product is seriously defective in my view.

I also believe that Acronis does too little testing of their software.

Add my to the list of disgruntled frustrated users with this issue. Can't believe Acronis incompetence, I should've gone with Norton Ghost in the first place.
Me and my company have been Acronis customers for years but this issue with True Image Home 11 is frustrating. Was about to purchase a PPI support to have this issue corrected after trying everything else but now I see it's common and many users have it.

Thank you for the acknowledgement. Two items to note:

1) I did a reinstall, and it worked for about 2 weeks.
2) After a week off-line and on vacation, I returned - turned my PC - did the required updates to all the usual MSFT stuff and Symantec and well . . . it stopped again with the same error.

Just though you would like to know. I am about to install Win7 SP1, but do not have much faith in my back-up software. Please advise on the status of the fix etc. Really at this point am quite frustrated. Please provide some resolution, refund, discount or free upgrades to the fix to those of us with this issue. I have both Ture Image Home and Disk Director and am a tech. guide and up until now have been recommending your products . .. that will be stopping.

I run win 7 64 bits, 9 mb ram, and have problems like the rest of you.

I have uninstalled and installed severel times and then it runs for some days and crash.
Nonstop backup doesnt work at all. It even seems that a backup who should fill 103 gb now has grown so it fill 264 gb on the target drive.

Whats happening here?

I dont like Norton ghost because its user interface is confusing to me, so what´s the alternative. Does anyone know wish software actually work and have a intuitive user interface?

All of you can try: Genie Backup Timeline Pro, have tested succesfully, light, fast and easy, but I still like ATI, I am waiting a new update for solve all issues, hope.

I am having the same problem and want to hear if they ever fix it. What terrible service. I can't believe this.

For non stop backup I use Genie Timeline Server and works fine.

For daily backups I use Norton Ghost and works fine also.

I too am getting this error on ATIH2011 Build 6696:

Once again I have to state that ATIH logging is absolutely useless - WHY was is impossible to put the date and time in an intelligible format in the file - it would make like SO much easier for us all.

I look forward to the day when the log files actually contain something useful so that the end user has some chance of resolving the issue themselves.

Something for you to try while waiting for tech support to pin down the issue. I have changed my page files in Vista x64 from system managed to custom and set them to be min 3 g and max 10g per disk for 2 of my disks. Though this gives almost the same page file space as the system was managing on its own (~6g) I notice that my NSB has now managed to go 2 days without pausing or crashing.

Windows Vista X64 did an update this morning too so still need to go at least a week of normal use to see if this resolved the problem.
Prior to this change NSB would pause or crash or generate that funny error but sortof continue anyway right from powerup so it has already improved by lasting 2 days.

For anyone trying my temp solution go to control panel->system then on the left pane (tasks) click the advanced system settings.
one window (System Properties) should appear with the "advanced" tab selected. On that tab select the performance "settings" button.
"Performance Options" window should appear with "advanced" tab selected. Under the section "Virtual memory" push the "Change..." button.
"Virtual Memory" window should appear.
This is where you make the changes. I have 4 partitions listed on 3 disks so I selected one partition on each of 2 of the disks. The third is a USB3.0 external disk so I skipped it.

I'm also having trouble with that NSB-behavior. It occured after, I installed SP1 for Windows 7, 64Bit. So I agree with Anton from Acronis, that the reason is a large number of files!

Me too after updating to sp1, but there was large number of files before too...

Well grrr. After 2 days of working fine I check this morning and nonstop backup has paused. A check of performance shows that there is plenty of space in the page file (3000M / 9983M). When I went to the main menu the backup was missing from the list of my backups. When I went to the "edit nonstop backup settings it did start without any error messages so that is an improvement. To get the nonstop in the list of mhy backups I had to "update" the backup list by the pulldown arrow to the right of the words "My Backups"

I found much more pretty prog for continues file backups - viceversa
works fine, make exact copies to one or more destinations and no need any software to see that files later

P.S. Vicky, your temp solution with page file settings not work for me, crash after about 6-7 hours

If you choose viceversa just keep in mind that the free version does not copy open files.
from their FAQ "Now you can copy and backup open files and databases with ViceVersa PRO. "

I gave up. After many a day since I put in my plaintive plea - ATIH2011 gave up the ghost and phrose. I could have done a reinstall, but I prephered to switch. Ghost now works on my machine - thank you very much.

I will keep reading these tails of woe to see in Acronis ever gets its act together - probably not from seeing how long this has been going on. I just feel cheated of my $50 fee that I paid to do beta - NO - alpha test for Acronis!

I run the ATIH 2011 Update 1 (Build 6696). Acronis Non Stop BackUp stopped working without obvious reason and display the error code : 0x00E40022+0x00000009.

I had the same problem months ago and was totally unhappy with the Acronis Help Crew. As I wrote in an earlier post, I chose Norton Ghost 15, which continues to be updated by Norton. I sincerely report that Ghost 15 has worked flawlessly for me. Even though the UI is completely inturive, when I was confused with an issue, Norton responded timely and accurately. It truly is a set and forget program, well worth the cost. BTW, I was cheated out of my refund, 34 days after purchase.

I just noticed this problem yesterday, Saturday April 30th. It may have begun sooner because at first, when I check the icon tray after starting Windows, the NSB looks fine. I wonder if the last Windows update may have done this? I have the most up to date version of ATIH and have Win7 64 bit. I could switch to my Western Digital continuous backup but prefer Acronis. For now I have space for regular backups and the online backup is fine. I just hope I do not lose the old NSB. Notice: I tried updating the scheduler and that worked temporarily! Could this be a lead? I notice a NSB "diagnostic tool" in the Programs in the Control Panel but not in the Startup menu. Could that help? I found in Knowledge Base: 14708: Acronis Nonstop Backup Pauses. It has possibly some pertinence? Even after waiting for hours and restarting the computer and restarting the service the problem remains.

I too have had the same problem for months and have been following this post with the hope that the Acronis staff would solve the problem. In my particular situation, each time it happens is when a windows update has occurred. Please provide us an update on this issue.

I find that NSB continued working for one day after the last Windows Updates and then stopped. I am doing a paid support and they suggested using the cleanup tool to uninstall thoroughly and reinstall. This may have helped some yet it does not work now either.

same issues as everyone above.. NSB stops at like 5% ... 2010 did the same thing, "thought" it would be fixed... man just flushed $30 bucks down the drain... =(

I resorted to paid support and found it necessary to delete the NSB as they instructed because of corrupt metadata file. They refunded the $9.95 charge because the problem has no solution.

I have also encountered this issue multiple times and believe that I have found at least a potential workaround:

1) Download Process Hacker 2.17 (or the current version -- it's freeware) from the Internet.

2) Find the afcdpsrv.exe process and set the CPU priority to 'High' and allow it to run, if possible, on all the cores that your processor has available using the Affinity panel.

3) Set as many NON-SYSTEM processes to "Very Low" Disk priority using the Miscellaneous -> I/O Priority option. Do the same for "Page Priority."

4) If you are using a Western Digital External drive, SUSPEND the WDFME.exe process. It can interfere with NSB. After your backup is successful (if it is), you can resume the WDFME.exe process.

5) Restart the NSB process from the True Image program.
