create bootable media on CD-R busy
I just bought ACRONIS True Image Home 2009 PC Backup and Recovery software. I installed it on an HP dv6-1230m laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit O/S.
When I tried to create a bootable disk on a CD-R disk, I get a message window that says:
"Device is Busy
(0x40010)
Tag=
0x8b7f8138ebd33ebc"
This DVD device works on everything else, and it has a CD-R disk in it for recording the bootable program.
Any ideas what to do next?

Most laptop drives won't close by themselves. You may be able to leave it open and then close it manually just before (or after) clicking the final button in the wizard.
Another option is to create an ISO file (or download the ISO file from your Acronis account) and burn it to a CD using an ISO capable burning program.

I just bought and installed 2 licensed copies of Acronis True Image Home 2010. On my desktop running Win XP Pro, there was no problem creating recovery disk.
On my Sony VAIO laptop, running Win XP Pro, I keep getting similar errors to those noted above. The CD/DVD works fine for everything else, but when I try to make the Recovery Disk for Acronis, I get:
Error
Device is busy (0x40010)
Tag = 0x8B7F8138EBD33EC1.
Tried leaving CD/DVD drawer open. Tried closing it. Nothing works. Suggestions, please?

Same problem as above. Nothing works to solve it. I had no trouble creating the disc on the same laptop running Vista Home Premium before I upgraded to 2010.
Acronis needs to fix this; it's been going on far too long.

This option is what worked for me.
No matter what driver I used, internal or external, I received this error if I closed the drive prior to proceeding with the burn of the rescue CD. However, when I simply placed the blank disc in the drive and let True Image close the drive after I proceeded, the disc was burned properly.
