Destroyed original boot in Vista & could't boot new drive -Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh
I actually purchased a legitimate copy of True Image Home 2009 from a local computer store (Fry's). Installed a 1tb Hitachi into my Gateway with a 400gb western digital. It did it's thing for about 45 min and when it completed, I removed the 400gb and had only the 1tb remaining. Tried to boot off the new drive and hung up, never booted.
I re-installed the old SATA 400gb and it couldn't boot either (worked prefect before). It automatically went into Vista boot repair and it couldn't fix it either. Eventually I was forced to use the recovery option, which worked, and now it's back to normal.
I looked at the new 1tb drive after installing it as a D: drive, and all files seemed to be there as the original drive has, but still cannot boot.
I'm afraid of re-trying the imaging again, fearing that it may not recover the second time.
Why isn't the new 1tb drive able to boot?
