True Image 2010 won't start

Thread needs solution

Hello:

I recently upgraded one of our office machines to TI2010 with the Plus Pack and I had to use it to recover an image. The drive had two partitions. After backing up the files and data on drive D: (the second partition), since recovery wants the whole drive not just a C: partition, I got the image installed without difficulty. I used Disk Director to get the D: partition back.

But when I tried to start TI2010 from the WinXP desktop (to restore the D: data back), I received a Windows error - the usual apology and send or don't send. Rebooting and even running in Safe Mode, even after running the Repair (install) for TI2010 did not make any difference. The technical data is several pages long - a memory dump. (BTW, the reason for the recovery turned out to be hardware not software - a bad memory stick)

I have the serial numbers of TI Home 11, the TI2010 upgrade and the Plus Pack. My question is how to go about uninstalling-reinstalling without loosing the use of my serial numbers - ie, I don't want to have to buy new licenses ?

TIA

Jamie

New information -

I re-did the whole thing and found the following:

Recovering the image did fine - TI2010 starts up just fine. Enter Disk Director - resizing the C: partition to a larger size and making the D: partition then causes TI2010 not to function afterwards.

How do I get around this problem ?

Jamie

Hello James,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

We have had some compatibility issues between the latest build of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and the previous build of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0. Please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 # 2239. You can find out the number by selecting "Help" option, "About".

You can learn more on how to download the latest build here. Install it and see if the issue remains.

By the way, you вщтже need to purchase another product keys during the reinstalling. You can use the licenses registered under your account.

If the issue still remains, please obtain the below information and attach to your next post:

1) - Press the Start button, choose Run, type drwtsn32 and hit Enter;- In the dialog that appears check the Log File Path and Crash Dump paths;

- Set the Crash Dump Type to Full.
-  Make sure the Dump Symbol Table option is checked, then click the OK button;
- Reproduce the problem;
- drwtsn32.log and user.dmp files will be created in the directories specified in Log File Path and Crash Dump.
2) - Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;
- Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";
- Send us the saved file.
This information will help me to investigate the issue thoroughly and provide you with a possible solution.
