Try calling AE to see if they have Return Protection and/or Warranty Extension Protection for your card. Mine has a 60 Day Return Protection Guarantee up to $300 or so and doubles the warranty of the product if it fails. They will credit your account after you file the claim. Most credit cards have one or both of these, especially AE Cards. Better than using Dispute.

Acronis will no longer sell the defective build when they come out with the New build. That is not out yet. Remember, they provided the new SnapAPI drivers by themselves to correct the Freeze issue because of the Forum posts. The drivers will be incorporated into the next build which will then be posted and sold online when it is ready.

Good Luck with Norton/Symantec and their products. Acronis will look like a bunch of Quakers compared to Symantec's long tainted history. I was a long time Symantec user many years ago. Never again. Sloppy Goat below is only touching on the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the LONG HISTORY of problems with Symantec and their products. Power Users and Computer Pros generally STAY AWAY from Symantec for good reason.

Jim

We're here to discuss Acronis NOW not Symantec as they were 3 YEARS ago. If you want to talk about Symantec as they are NOW that's another story, you would be very surprised. Comparing Acronis and Symantec is like apples and oranges.

As for my refund, I contacted Amex 2 weeks ago and they have approved the dispute and reversed the payment. Just waiting for it to show up on my bill which is due 12/27.

Why no, I don't. I'm an MCSA. Why would I mock MS users? I make my living from them. Just install Endpoint and be done with it. I've watched that make even the most powerful servers slow to a crawl, not to mention the lack of necessary features. Is there a way to disable outgoing mail scanning yet? LOL It's horrible malware! Over the years, I think I've had two issues with Acronis, through a few of their updates, and they were easily solved by excellent support. Thank you, Acronis! You've saved my ass more times than I can count.

Granted, Ghost has been one of their lucky streaks. I successfully used it back when I was in school, so I know it works, but it doesn't make up for the atrocities Symantec/Norton have sold at the price of poor unsuspecting victims, who wonder what happened to their computer after that. LMAO!!! It's not really mocking. I'm just stating fact, quite honestly. I'd be very surprised if you tried to uninstall it now, and it worked. I'd be even more surprised if you never lose an image to Ghost.

Sorry. Off topic...I'm done bashing the Symantec.Norton trojan.

I guess Acronis is a Moscow based company:

Obviously you're not.
Once again you looking at the past and not the present.
That doesn't change the Acronis fiasco that has been going on for the last 5 weeks.

I'm totally agreed with Ed. I have tested Ghost 10 three years ago, and it was not pleasure at all and after that I found True Image. But now Ghost 15 is entirely different program than it was then.

I have posted #6038 27 & 29 November 2009 about problems with TIH 2010:6029 and it looks like I am going to have to continue using TIH 11:8101.

My latest attempt to install TIH 2010:6053 with Snapapi.503 results in an initialising error - Failed to open (initialize) the computer. Failed to open snapshot library (0x1000005) Tag = 0x8D5BF87C202E86DC. The system cannot find the file specified (0xFFF0) Code = 80070002 Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8B9.

It does not seem to make much difference whether you instal 2010:6053 and Snapapi.503 and reboot or reboot between installation of each.

Some things just can't be undone, IMO...like Symantec's reputation. Unsubscribed from this thread. There ya go. ;)

Richard, the same thing happened to me, and I've reformatted and reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit. After installing build 6053, then the SnapApi update Acronis is now working as it should. My only complaint is that it takes a very long time to startup, and every time I click on something in the GUI, it takes a long time as well. But at least it's working now.

That's what I did. I purchased Norton Ghost and it is working (almost) flawlessly. The problem I am having with Ghost is strictly "cosmetic."

Oh god! Ghost?! Anything Norton/Symantec absolutely sucks, IMO. Once it's installed, your system is never clean again, unless you want to sit through hours (more like days or weeks, actually) of registry editing, searching for every entry. You are now running a Norton system. I've harbored a not so quiet hatred for their products every since CrashGuard made my system crash back in like the 98 days. LMAO!!! Yeah, I know they make uninstall utlities for their failed uninstalls, which is pretty much every time. LOL

No offense, and this is not meant to be a troll type remark. Sorry if it comes across that way. I just have a passionate hatred for anything Symantec or Norton.

I guess you mock Microsoft users as well. I'm well aware of their old rep. I've been in the biz since 1979. Guess you haven't checked them out in the last 2 years. Their A/V & Firewall software has now become top rated and is totally and completely 180 degress from what it used to be. I've been using Ghost since it was freeware without problem. Over the last 3 years I've used Acronis as well. Acronis has had it's own share of issues (ever read the previous Wilders "official" support forum previous to their move to this horrid Forum software?). You can't compare the 2 companies although you MIGHT expect Acronis, due to their smaller size to be more user friendly and be in closer touch with their customers). Comparing Symantec to Acronis is like comparing Microsoft to 2 kids writing games out of their basement.

Mock me as you may, but software companies sometimes DO learn from their customer base, and Symantec did, at least as far as their A/V and FW software goes. As for Ghost, it's always worked fine for me as has TrueImage (depsite all the complains on Wilders) until this release.

Ah yes...........Good 'ol CrashGuard. Among many debacles with this company. Forgive Ed...he knows Not what he do.

Ed:

My CrashGuard comment was not intended to Mock you. Just a little humor to smile about after much frustration! Your points are well taken throughout the forum and one reason why Acronis reacted to fix this issue. I appreciate your posts. I am in the business too. I do not Mock Microsoft but support them! I did not like Vista that much, but 7 is great.

I agree that you cannot compare Acronis to Symantec. That was my point.....I hope Acronis does not become another Symantec. As companies become big and bloated they almost always Decline from where they were when they were a small Up and Coming Company!

Symantec's Antivirus has always been very effective, even if a bit of a resource hog, and somewhat bloated. I have also heard that the Firewall is very good as you say, but I have always used ZoneAlarm Pro, which has always been rated at the top from its inception. Checkpoint has even scaled back the Pro version and made it leaner by removing many of the extra features. It is now basically a pure Firewall and is very Fast on Windows 7 64 Bit. Can you imagine that, a company Reducing the BLOAT of its software. I love it.

As you mentioned, I have not checked out Symantec's products for over 2 years. After my experiences, I will not do it. Even if they have improved, which is true, according to the reports, I have found replacements which I like better including NOD32. Very lean and very effective with no BLOAT. I just have had too many problems with Symantec for years to try them again.

Time to get back on topic.

I stated that I have two computers. 1. On my new computer, I decided to try Ghost 15. I downloaded the trial version and ordered a disk of the program. 2. On my old computer which I gave to my wife, I will stay with Acronis because I do have one paid license. I certainly don't ever want to reinstall the system on it because I would have to install XP and then upgrade to Windows 7. I have no idea if I did the right thing. I too went through a time of hating Norton. I started with them in the 80's on a Mac. Several years ago, all their programs turned into junk. Then last year I switched back to Norton Internet Security and have been very pleased. I would have bought two copies of Acronis if this problem had not happened. What I do want from Acronis is a stable version that I can install. Please let me know when that build is available so I can download it and install it on my wife's computer.
I can understand how problems occur. System Mechanic wiped out an important registry entry when I first used it with Windows 7, but I have received three emails from them, and they have fixed the problem so I will stay with them. If Acronis fixes this problem, I see no reason to abandom them. I will evaluate both programs and buy 2 copies of the best program on the next release. My biggest concern with Acronis is that they are adding features that I don't want. All I want is a simple, no problem generating system image.
I was pleasantly surprised with Windows 7 last night. My wife bought a HP 2840 laser printer/scanner/fax a few years ago. It came with an XP disk that caused problems. She then bought a Vista machine and I never could get it to work right. When we both moved to Windows 7, there were no drivers. Last night I read that the drivers were ready, so I plugged in the printer and it worked just like magic with me doing nothing. Now that is an operating system.

Orvelle:

You statement about Acronis adding too many extraneous features is well taken. I too want a lean Imaging program with flexible Imaging capability. While I really like the the new TI 2010, Acronis is getting to the point of Bloating the software. They need to stop doing this now before it is too late.
Hear that Acronis? There is a fine line between features and functionality, and impact on system resources and bloat. You are getting close to crossing that line.

With the new SnapApi drivers my version 6053 is working OK now but I bought some insurance just the same. NewEgg had Norton Ghost 15.0 for $20.95 and Free Shipping on the Black Friday sale and that weekend so I picked up a copy just for insurance. Can't beat that price.

Great price! Mad I missed that. By the way, you can run both programs together. I used Acronis on M,W,F and Ghost on T,Th,Sa. Everything was fine until they released 6029.

Here is the perfect example of Acronis "support."

In this thread: ( http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5620 ) a customer posts a new message thread on NOVEMBER 7th asking about support for an issue.

Today, DECEMBER 6th (ONE FULL MONTH LATER) Acronis FINALLY replies to him telling him he has to pay for support because it's past 30 days (not withstanding the fact it took them 30 days to reply to his question).

Why even bother having an "official support forum" if you're not going to read the messages your customers post?
You're better off not having it as it makes your company look like they don't care. Oh wait, maybe they don't.

Just an update on my experience since trouble with TIH 2010 began:

1) I have received a full refund from Acronis.
2) I tried the new SnapAPI drivers with a clean install of windows. The new drivers did not resolve the crashing issue I was having.
3) I have successfully created and restored system images from Paragon and Macrium free versions and both work perfectly. Ease of use is variable.
4) System disk imaging is available in Windows 7.
5) I hear very good things about WinImage software.

Hello all,

I would like to express the appreciation for all comments.

If you experience the issue with the Unable to initialize (or open) snapshot manager library error message, the reason is that the SnapAPI module has failed to be updated. The traces of the previous SnapAPI build prevents this module from the proper functionality. I have posted the instructions on how to resolve it in this thread. We published the appropriate article, it contains the necessary SnapAPI file. You can learn more on how to download the latest build in this article. Certainly, this build of SnapAPI module will be implemented for the next build release. The exact date of the new build release is unknown. I requested the information about the approximate time frame, I will keep you informed.

I will submit a special request to our Product managers. The opinion that the the program becomes very complicated because of adding too many extraneous features should be taken into consideration.

If the program freezes during the backup operation (the behavior mentioned by Donald), please obtain Userdump file and Windows sysinfo file, this information will help us to fund the exact reason of the encountered issue.

If Windows 7 still hangs after applying the patch available in article, please obtain Windows minidump file and Windows sysinfo file.

If the program crashes (with the proposal to sent the report to Microsoft), please obtain Dr Watson crash dumps and Windows sysinfo file.

Please note that all issues should be investigated with the latest builds only.

After that please let me know about it via  Private Message, I will create a case for you and assign it to an Support Professional to resolve it for you.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

@Acronis: Wasn’t it a good idea, to create a new build now - immediately, to prevent user from ‘update’, ‘search’ and ‘download’ trouble?
Remember, a lot of people will download your Test-Version to learn about the program, its functionality, its options and so on. And this people - potential new user / purchaser – are running into this not rare Windows 7 freeze disaster; even though a released solution is available.

I don’t understand ‘this service’.

Totally agreed! If I choose to recommend True Image to someone, I have to mention "there is fixed SnapAPI that you have to install too". Not sound so reliable recommendation...

I agree too. Why a new build hasn't been released yet with the fixed SnapAPI is beyond me. Like you said, downloading a trial of 6053 may not be a nice experience for the average user who doesn't know about the fix.

All, there is a new build being prepped with the SnapAPI drivers the release date is TBD.  I have asked our developers to add the drivers to the current build though this is being looked at now.

Releasing a new build, even one with simple driver updates is an enormous effort.  Hours and hours of testing and product "bashing" are required before we can green light a release.  Not to mention this is something we are trying to get done ahead of a scheduled release.  The perception that this is an overnight (or even a week) thing is just not realistic for a product of this complexity.  You have my commitment that we are aggressively looking into this though. It is blatantly obvious that it is in our best interest to do this, there is no argument there.   But to be clear, we will not release a product build without following a strict process of QA.  I will get back to this thread with an update as soon as possible.

Joachim, to your last comment.  This issue is not as widely spread as you would think  i.e. not all customers using Win 7 are having this issue and there are not a lot of support cases submitted with this issue. In fact it would not have hit our radar as a priority had the forum community not banded together to ensure we knew this was a MUST FIX issue.  It was extensively tested and only uncovered on one machine in Acronis.  We obviously can not hotfix every issue that is reported.  For this we schedule updates and include the show-stoppers and majority of usability issues reported.

Rob Frost

Hello everyone, I can confirm the staff Rob wrote above, changing low level drivers is not a fast tasks and requires lot's of testing(long-haul, stress, compatibility, etc), before going into the field. If we rush here, we will get more problems in the future, then benefits.

Hi,

I currently see many Acronis staff here around, hence, I've a big plea: Please make the UI of TI2010 more responsive. It is really annoying slow (using Windows 7 Pro). Others have already complainted about this, too.
So do some research on this area, too, and make it more faster.

Thanks!

Hello Rob, hello Roman,

that you will run a lot of tests … I hope so ;-). But how you can release a new SnapAPI without these tests? Or with other words: Why you can’t create a new build with all released and tested Modules from “SnapAPI_503_release-test”? (Like a Build 6.053a.)

Please remember (see my Post #185): the SnapAPI installation fails, when TIH is running; User must manually stop the ‘TrueImageMonitor’-Process.
My ‘frozen Windows 7 problem’ occurs in a very pure Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 Bit installation, with only Microsoft’s AV and one Mouse driver installed.

If this can be useful to anyone in this forum, here's my latest story with TI
I uninstalled 5055 and installed 6053, then installed 503 SnapAPI, same problems as before, my system would freeze when trying to backup. I'll spare you the details but I ended up re-installing Windows 7 from scratch.
Good and bad news,
The good news is that now build 6053 is working well and I can backup my system.
The bad news is that my wireless mouse and keyboard are not working with the rescue media, they were working with build 5055.
As per Oleg, this is a known problem and Acronis is working on it. I validated my 6053 backup with the 5055 rescue media and it came out ok. After checking the forum it looks like I am not the only one, see post 5544,6244,6453,6570.
You are better off to make sure everything is working if you want to rely on your backups
This seems to be a non-ending story
My system:
W7, 64 bits
Core i7
Motherboard: Intel DX58S0
4 hard disk in stripe(raid 0)
1 hard disk for backups
Microsoft wireless keyboard
Microsoft wireless mouse
Donald

For me (Windows 7 Prof 64 on a Gigabyte P55-UD3 with a core i5 and 4 GB, 1 TB RAID 1 on Intel SATA controller), the new SnapAPI driver solved the problem. Before, the system freeze occured while/after locking the C-partition.

Moreover, rare crashs (BSOD, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTIONm which I did not originally allocate to TI, damaging even the RAID 1 sync) did not happen after installation of 6053.

If further systems details are needed, drop a message.

I am shall we say "playing around" with trying to get latest Acronis to live up to its rep that got me here; Ghost 15 Trial; and latest Paragon tools.... to see if ANY of them are more than just the latest in shrink-wrap beta.... :-(

I thought ATI2010 was okay until my backup drive was off line this AM and the way it can't handle a simple off line volume.

In response to Robert Frost's comment 191, please be aware that this problem affects Vista Home Premium too. On 30 November I reported the same symptoms as mentioned in this thread (case 00418786 and, for some strange reason, 00418787) - 6053 hangs on backup but 5055 works fine. No response from support yet.

Just wanted to post an update concerning the problems I had with TIH.  As it turns out, most of my problems were caused by a failing DVD-RW drive, and a failing power supply.  Both problems have been fixed, and my system is running more smoothly than it has in quite some time.  TIH starts properly, if slowly, every time, and I can boot from various rescue media without any trouble.  In the end, I can't blame Acronis....:-)

The download URL for english is https://www.acronis.com/my/download/?TrueImage2010.5055_s_en.exe once you get logged in.

I am running build 5055 TIH-2010. I have been experiencing issues where a validation just stops running a few minutes before completion, and not always in the same place. TIH doesn't freeze, it is just that all data transfer stops. I have had no problems doing the partition backup, just the validation.

I am running Win7 Pro x64 with TIH set to high priority and no foreground apps running (just the background stuff that loads at boot). The destination is an eSATA drive via an Express Card eSATA controller (this is a notebook).

I downloaded build 6053 (Nov. 23rd file date), however I also ran into the initialization error. Ultimately I completely uninstalled TIH and reinstalled 5055. If Acronis really wanted me to patch build 6053, they should have at least put the link in the My Account page next to the link for the primary file instead of making me hunt all over this site to discover it.

I will for the time being stick with 5055 at least until a more stable successor becomes available.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your questions, I will be happy to help.

I would like to express the appreciation to all who confirmed the resolution of the issue, the feedback is really important for us.

Micky and William,

We should troubleshoot the issue with the slow GUI. First of all I would ask to disable temporary your AntiVirus software, because it can be the reason of the issue. See if the issue remains. If this helps, please download AcronisInfo file, run the downloaded file. The gathered information will be put in adv_report.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved. Running AcronisInfo may take up to 5 minutes.

If the issue remains, please do the following:

1) Run AcronisInfo file and obtain adv_report.zip file.

2) Please run Process Explorer utility. Reproduce the issue and analyze the CPU values, check the exact processes that use the main CPU resources. Write out them. After that please make double-click on TrueImage.exe process and select the Performance praph tab. Reproduce the issue and make a screen shot of the Performance praph tab during the reproducing.

Send a  Private Message to me, I will create an account on our FTP server to upload the files.

Joachim,

Certainly, we have tested the SnapAPI module of build #503. But the required time to release the entire program (in comparison with a separate module) grows up significantly.

Donald

As I have mentioned, we are working to create a fix, the issue is under investigation, please this article for more information.

Terry,

Thank you for your comments. We are aware of the issue with Windows Vista. The workaround with updating SnapAPI module can be applied to Windows Vista machines. Please see this article, Windows Vista is also mentioned. I will assign the cases to an Support Professional to resolve them for you.

Gregory,

You are correct, the program is unable to handle the offline hard drives. I will submit a request to the appropriate department.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

Oleg,

Thanks for the helpful response. Re the two fault numbers, I was just flagging that your system produced two consecutive fault numbers for a single fault report. Maybe this has happened to others.

FYI,
I had a failing drive on my PC and I used 5055 rescue media to restore my system using a 6053 backup and it worked.
I am very pleased about that, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting.

Terry,

Thank you very much for the clarification, I will submit a report of the issue.

Donald,

Our Linux developers have created a special ISO file that should resolve the issue with wireless USB kit. I am sending a file to you via PMs, please let us know the results at your earliest convenience, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you.

If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

Oleg,

Would it be possible to post the special ISO file that resolves the USB wireless mouse & keyboard problems...I too have problems with the rescue media with my Logitech wireless setup...keyboard & mouse not responsive on boot to current ISO file..see http://forum.acronis.com/forum/5544 ....others are having same problem

Thanks,

WildOne

Hello WildOne,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. I am unable to post a permanent link because only licensed customers should have the access to the file. I received a feedback via Private messages from Donald, he confirmed the resolution. I am also sending the file to you via Private messages. We will place the solution on how to obtain the appropriate file in this article. Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

Hello WildOne,

Thank you very much for the feedback.

I am really glad to hear that the issue has been resolved.

Thank you.

I thought I would report back. I was having difficulties backing up an image in Vista 64 bit, where everything just freezes and have to power off and on, then I saw this thread. This was with build 6029, and 6053 before the snapi driver release. I knew I would be building a new system this week and installing Windows 7 64 bit at the same time, so I decided to wait.

Got the new build done and Windows 7 64 bit installed, I then installed build 6053 and the snapi drivers. I succesfully completed my first image from within windows today, been a long time since I have been able to do that.

Hello Donald,

Thank you for the feedback, it is really appreciated.

Thank you.

I have just read through this entire forum after experiencing a BSOD in Windows 7 Pro X64 when plugging in a Corsair 16GB USB drive. After analyzing the Memory and Minidump files they indicated that the Acronis tdrpm251.sys driver (Signed on July 13th of this year) caused the failure (which I am reading on various sites is a somewhat common issue with this version of Windows). I was originally going to upgrade to the newest 6029 version but I am unsure if this will correct this issue. A side affect of this BSOD is that Windows will no longer detect the Corsair USB drive that I have but Windows will detect other drives. Removing the device from device manager nonpresent devices will force Windows to reload the driver and correct this issue but I am worried that the same thing will occur when Windows goes to reinstall the drive.

Also as a FYI I have the SAME issue happen with another USB drive on Windows Vista Business X86 where the same tdrpm251.sys forced a BSOD when it was inserted (3 times).

Have any of you seen this issue? I normally enjoy Acronis's products (been here since Version 7) but this bug may force me to move onto another vendor for drive imaging. Considering that this software is backup software of all things this is a critical flaw. Realizing that fixes take some time to write an ETA would not be a bad thing in this case!

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Phew! Like Toned, I've just read through this...

At least I know I'm not the only one who has struggled trying to get TI to work on a Win7 Pro x64. Having got all other legacy software and hardware to work, I'm not risking any disasters with TI.

Maybe when a quality, reliable product is produced by Acronis, as has been the case in the past, I will install TI but for now I'm using DriveImage XML, it's free and does something TI doesn't - it works.

Hello Toned,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

The BSOD issue caused by tdrpm251.sys driver has been addressed in build #6053 of Acronis True Image Home 2010 (the latest build of the program for now). You can learn more on how to download the latest build in this article

That's why I suggest you to install build #6053 and check the functionality of the program.

If Windows 7 freezes during the backup operation (this issue is not reproducible on every computer), than please apply the solution available in this article.

For more assurance prior installing the program you can backup the system partition under Acronis Bootable Rescue Media, to do this you don't need the program to be installed under Windows.

We have implemented the possibility to download the appropriate ISO file after logging in to your account (the serial number should be registered). Please log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.
You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article. Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.

Therefore, please backup the system partition and install the latest build of the program.

Hawfinch,

Thank you for your notes.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

When I was looking at my installed programs in Programs and Feature in Windows 7 naturally Acronis is at the top but down the list of installed programs is SnapAPI Acronis. I installed the SnapAPI drivers to make my version 6053 work which it does now. When the next version comes out how do you update, over the top and uninstall that SnapAPI or uninstall both of them and do a fresh install of Acronis True Image? Anybody else who installed these drivers do you have them separately in your add/remove programs or Programs and Features in Windows 7?

Same situation here....I would remove prior to installation both the Acronis program & SnapAPI 504 when the new version is released, unless Acronis instructed differently....hopes this helps..

WildOne

That's what I plan to do is remove both and install a fresh copy of new version when it comes out unless instructed to do otherwise.

Hello all,

If you install SnapAPI file separately, it should be listed in Programs and Features or Add or remove programs as a separate item. The next after #6053 build will contain this build (or more up-to-dated build) of SnapAPI module, that's why you should uninstall the separate SnapAPI file prior installing the new build of the program. After that you can install the new build of the program over the previous build, or you can uninstall the previous build of the program and install the latest one from the scratch.

If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

Hello all,

We are receiving feedback that the new SnapAPI drivers are resolving the issue, as was also confirmed here by Richard Broman.  The links that are provided from Acronis are unique links for individual customers as it is not a full build or actual release.  That is why you can not access the one posted in this thread.

Here is a but more in regard to the issue, although described in it's basic form.

Some major changes were introduced in the latest builds, due to modifications in certain OS’s.  As a result, SnapAPI is now registered in lower filters while earlier it was in the upper filters.   In some particular environments (hardware/software configuration) we have a conflict of SnapAPI and Windows low-level drivers.

To fix this issue we have simply adjusted our SnapAPI drivers to work in the low level filters without interfering with Windows. So in order to resolve this, you will need to install the new SnapAPI drivers, which can be downloaded upon request.  The new build will include these drivers, however that build is not ready yet.  So without having to wait for the new build you can download these drivers and install them over the latest two builds (6029 or 6053) now, as always we recommend the latest build.
If you need the drivers please send me or any forum moderator a message and we will get it out to you.  PLEASE NOTE the link posted in this thread is for build 493 of the drivers.  The latest build is 503 and has been thoroughly tested, I will be providing this build to those in need.

To Robert Frost / Moderators,

Please send me the SnapAPI driver build 503.  I am running ATI 2010 build 6053 on Win 7 64 bit and having the same problem as everyone else seems to: having ATI hang while trying to lock a partition to backup.

Thank you.
