Hardware Raid and Universal Restore
Some of you old hands at this can probably pull this off in your sleep, but it's bugging the heck out of me!
I have a machine running Windows Server 2003 that is about ten years old. I want to move this to a new machine.
I bought an Intel Server Board S3000AH because all the Server 2003 drivers are available on their website although I also have a clean install of the OS on the new machine.
I've downloaded and unpacked all the drivers from Intel's site and placed them on a flash disk.
Using a bootable WIN/PE disk, I restored the TIB from the old machine, then rebooted with Universal Restore.
Universal Restore gets 55% of the way through and tells me it needs intervention and complains that it can't find
pci ven_8086&dev_27c3&subsys_348e8086&rev_01
A Google search identifies it as a RAID driver.
There is a software driver on the flash drive, but the hardware has a hardware RAID enable in setup.
Needless to say, the new configuration won't boot.
What am I doing wrong?
TIA,
Ed
