Copy files out of TIB archive fails

Thread needs solution

Opening a TIB archive in Windows Explorer and attempting to drag a folder from the archive to another folder on the local machine NEVER happens.  It hasn't worked since at least v10.  It's been reported over and over and all I ever get is the "we're sorry, we'll look into it" excuse.

Reproduce:

1) Take a decent sized backup, say 1.5TB, in this case unencrypted

2) Find a folder, drag it to a local folder or even the desktop

3) Wait all day while the cursor spins and nothing ever happens

Why does the ablity exist to browse archives if this isn't going to work?

Don't have a 1.5TB archive, but when draging a folder from the TIB file to desktop it takes some time, even on a 60GB archive (encrypted).

I have also seen high CPU usage before actual copying starts (~20 seconds).

Contains the TIB archive incremental backups in your case?

To be fair, it finally started copying the files after about 30 minutes of "thinking" and then it said it was going to take over 24 hours to copy all the files from the UNENCRYPTED archive.

No, I always do full backups.  I was able to finally restore the files I needed by using the terrible, horrible, so-badly-designed new Web GUI and while that took far longer to setup and complete than it would have in 11.5/7, once setup it took 39 seconds to recover 727MB in just over 5,600 files.  There can simply be no excuse for this "feature" of Acronis to not have been fixed.  There's no way they don't know about it.  IMHO, anyone at Acronis who knows about a major bug like this and fails to take steps to fix it should be looking for a new job.  I can guarantee you anyone in my company who did this would be.
