NTLDR after successful recovery
I 've recovered by backup successfully to a new 500GB WD C: drive. The recovery validated the backup but NTLDR is still missing after reboot. Do I need to force this drive to be active? I did transfer the MBR.

The origninal C: drive died and is no longer attached to the system. The replacement C: drive is larger (320GB => 500GB) I did not select restore drive 1. I selected restore C_backup.TIB, then adjusted the resulting drive space to 465.8 GB, then after prompt for next drive moved the MBR to the new C: drive. The Backup .TIB was stored on another SATA drive attached to the system. There were multiple .TIB files on the backup drive.

I've answered your questions. What is the next step?

Have you verified that the new 500GB drive is the default booting drive in the BIOS?
Was the partition restored as an Active Primary partition? If you're not sure, do you have a partitioning program you can use to check (DD, PartedMagic, GParted, etc.)?
Do you have a standard Microsoft OEM or retail XP CD?
Have you tried restoring the image as an Entire Disk Image (all at once, no resize)? If so, does it boot properly?

Telling the Bios that the new drive was 1st in the boot sequence solved the problem. Thanks
