Several Errors - Can't complete backup

Thread needs solution

Hi everyone.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.  I get three errors consistently over the last week, after having run successful backups for months.  I've made no system changes.  The main error is "Failed to read data from the disk".  There are three errors under that:

I make sure to access the external drive before that backup runs, so I know the drive is awake.  I have run a full system check and performed an optimization.  On Windows 10.  I've deleted the old backup configuration and created a new one.  Have not reinstalled True Image.  If you have any advice, I'd sure appreciate it!

Jason, there can be several causes for the errors you are seeing but it is difficult to be certain as to which without seeing more information such as the full service_ log file that you extracted the entries from.

Snapshot errors may indicate an issue with the Microsoft VSS (Volume Shadow Service) for which there have been a number of posts in the forum recently.  One option here is to stop the VSS service via the Services management console and retry the backup again - this will cause ATIH to use the Acronis Snapshot tool instead of the system VSS one.

Other errors may be related to the system disk space where the VSS data is stored temporarily during the backup operation - you should check the Windows Event logs for any errors indicating disk errors associated with VSS.

Thank you Steve.  I'll look into the VVS and get back with tomorrow.  I'm also happy to post the full log.  Just didn't realize it was all useful.

If you have Windows restore points active you might try deleting a few of the older ones.  This will free up some space for VSS to create a snapshot.

This problem is resolved.  I reinstalled the program and deleted the base backup, and it's now running with no problem.  Sometimes the solution is simple!  Thanks for your advice.
