How did Acronis get on my homebuilt personal computer?
Does anyone know?, because now I am getting a message at power off that says: Acronis True Image is terminating current operation.
I didn't purchase it yet this seems like purchased software.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Hi Steve and thanks...No one ever sits at my computer or installs anything. Under Task Manager I see Acronis running but didn't want to uninstall something that was needed by another program. I have installed a SSD drive but it didn't come with Acronis either. In order to post a question here this morning, I had to register too. Silly me, I just looked and in the Start menu, there is Acronis 2015, which I did not install. So I just tried to sign in and it's asking for a Serial # which I don't have.

Cheryl, sounds like this will be a mystery unless you can find another explanation. However, as it is asking for a serial number, the software isn't activated or registered, so I would recommend just uninstalling it.
You can uninstall via the Control Panel as advised earlier, or you can use an uninstaller program like Revo or IObit to remove it. If you still get any indications that any part of it is still there after doing a normal uninstall, there is an Acronis Cleanup Tool (link is below in my signature) that can be used to remove any residue left over.

I believe you are right Steve, thanks so much. How it got installed I have no idea but I don't need it and have no activation code for it so will uninstall.
