Backup of system only
Hallo,
on C:/ I have stored system, users and data, like most people do. All this is also included in my backup. Is it possible (and how) to backup only system and users excluding all or parts of the data files? I don't need the data to be backuped and so I could reduce the amount of GB drastically.
It still should be possible to restore the system on the same or a different hardware.
Thanks for your comments!
Willi

Thanks a lot, this will help me very much. I did not know about the possibility of excluding files or folders. This is perfect for me.
Moving the data to a new partition of course would solve the problem even more perfect, but I think this would be a critical action because links would no more be valid after moving.
Thanks again and bye

If it was me, I'd do a full disk backup before any other action. Then move the data directories, then do another backup of the now sleaker system disk. Disk space is inexpensive security these days ;)

Hallo Willi,
if you want to move users directory, refer to this procedure, so the links are correct after the move.
