Can't see Sata hard Drive

Thread needs solution

I'm not sure what the solution is for this dilemma. I have 2 Sata hard drives. Both identical Seagate 1TB. They are identified as Dive " E" and "F " in Winxp SP3. When I use the boot CD from True Image version 9 or the new 2010 it does not show both drives, only drive " E " . Is this a problem due to both being identical drives ? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Please excuse this very basic reply as you probably are already aware of this.

I believe the rescue CD is Linux based and sometimes changes the drive letters from what we see in Windows. Does the rescue CD list ONLY one of the two drives or are BOTH drives listed but with drive letters different than what you are expecting?

Thanks for the reply.

The drive letters change, that I know. Unfortunately it only sees one of the drives, not both that are SATA. It sees the IDE ones fine. I've been searching the forums. There seems to be a bug in the boot loader that others are also experiencing with my hardware configuration. Acronis forum admins are PMing links to an ISO file that supposedly includes the correct drivers/instructions. I guess I'll have to wait for that ?? Seems odd that they would not include it on a brand new release.

Wish I could offer more help but others will probably jump in and see if they can assist. Good luck!

If E: is disconnected and you boot to the TI CD, does TI show the F: drive? This would help determine if the problem is the drive. I doubt the fact that they're identical is what's causing the problem.

You might also try a different SATA port (if one is available).

Does it make a difference if you use the quiet acpi=off noapic option detailed in Section II of the Read Before You Post thread?

Hello Michael,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

I can’t find any registered products under your account. Can you please send me the serial number for your version of Acronis True Image program via PM so I can send you an ISO image?

I am a registered user of True Image 11 and am having problems recognizing my SATA drives. Could you please send me the ISO image that you are talking about?

thanks

I too am a registered user, TI9, and would like this image. I have had issues with Rescue CD's not seeing SATA.

I also need that .iso file for SATA drives not being recognized. I have True Image 11.0.8027. It is registered.

I also need the iso file for problems with sata-drives. I have true image 11 latest build on win7.
Kind regards
Stephan

I have true image 11 that will not see my hard drives. I can send you my serial #

I have true image 11 that will not see my HP MV2120. Can I send you my serial # and get an ISO file?

Allen

Allen,

It may be best to just go ahead and send your serial number and the request to Dmitry (or another Acronis Moderator) via PM. There's probably no point in waiting for a response in the thread (it'll just make it take longer).

Hello all,

Anil, John, James, Stephan and Allen I have sent you ISO images of the respective version of Acronis True Image Home via PM.

James you have purchased an upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, let us know if you need further assistance.

Stephan Acronis True Image 11 Home doesn’t support Windows 7, you will need the current version Acronis True Image Home 2010. You may purchase an upgrade using our online store.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD at:

http://iso.snoekonline.com/iso.htm

http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm

Let me know if the issue persists.

I have 2009 home version, latest build. When attempting a restore from image, it doesn't see the internal hard disk of my Compaq laptop (which works fine). I've tried it from Windows (Vista), and from bootable media, both in safe mode and normal: no help. I understand the disk may be SATA and may require an ISO file. Can you supply? My product is registered.

I also need that .iso file for SATA drives not being recognized (Vista). I have True Image 11 registered.

I also need that .iso file for SATA drives not being recognized. I have True Image 11. It is registered.

I have just registered my TI 9 Home. Could I have the .iso file for my SATA drives not being recognized ?
Best Regards

Sorry, I did not see that I was supposed to download the latest build before to post a message in this forum and ..... it works right now ! My SATA disks are being recognized. ;-)

Michael, you are better off contacting customer support or sending a PM to one of the Acronis employees.

I too have the same issue. and I am a registered owner of both ADD 10 and ATIH 11. Both have problems detecting (seeing) my laptop SATA drive. Can you send me the ISO for both. Thanks
