"NTLDR Missing" msg before Win XP freezes on bootup.

Thread needs solution

I am using Win XP still and today received the "NTLDR Missing" error and this caused
my PC to not be able to boot. I have both DiskDirector 10 and True Image 10 that
I bought when I got my desktop system and I can boot with both DiskDirector10
and True Image10 in my DVD drive but I cannot directly access my main drive C:
that has Windows XP on it.

I am trying to copy the NTLDR file from the C:\root from another XP system
onto a DVD and then put it in the DVD drive of my crashed system and see
if the system will read the file and allow it to continue booting from C:

Can Acronis Disk Director or True Image help me here now ? I never did do a
backup or partition copy. I just want to get the system booted up and then
I will back up the important files.

Any suggestions or experts I could call for help here ? I dont mind paying
for support services but I dont know if Accronis is the right tool here ?

Thanks

Acronis Trueimage won't help here unless you made a backup, which would have been perfect for this kind of problem.

Can't speak for disk director--not enough experience yet.

Do you have more than one drive? First step is Try going into BIOS and making sure that the Boot drive is set to the drive you want to boot from. If that setting is wrong, you will get the ntldr missing msg.
