True Image Home 2010 and Wireless Keyboard

Thread needs solution

Maybe this has been addressed, but I can't find it. I have Win 7 Pro 64 bit with Microsoft Wireless keyboard and mouse. I cannot get the mouse to work when I enter the F11 menu at bootup. I cannot even get the keyboard arrrow keys to work. How can I fix this?

John,

This might be a hot issue for you, but, probably not for others, you'll get more responses if you move this post into the True Image forum.

How far do you get when selecting F11, does the rescue CD have the same problem (it should)?

There are a number of things to try, which will depend a little bit on you motherboard and it's BIOS.

For the Rescue CD.

Download the SAFE media, remake a rescue CD and see if the SAFE mode works.

With the standard version of the rescue disk:
At the Acronis prompt, hit the F11 key
And after the 'quiet......' type in usbmouse=off or try acpi=off

See if that will allow the keyboard and mouse to be recognised.

There are other switches that can be applied at the quiet..... if that doens't work.

The switches can be built in to the cfg file when making a rescue CD.

I'm sure someone mentioned they'd made appropriate alterations to the correct files in order to get the ASRM version of Linux to boot, but at this moment cannot recall what needed to be done.

Hello,

Colin, thanks for your help.

John, let me assist you. Most likely, standard bootable media doesn't detect your keyboard properly or doesn't have necessary drivers. I may recommend you to try a special version of Acronis Bootable Media available in your account:

  1. Log in to your account;
  2. Once logged in, click My Products & Downloads:

  3. Scroll down to the registered product and click Bootable Media:

  4. Click Download:

  5. Acronis Bootable Media will be downloaded as an ISO file. See Burning an ISO Image.

If the issue still persists with the ISO image, please gather Acronis Linux Report, Windows System Information and submit a support request.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.
