Installation Failed for latest Acronis 10 on 2003 SP2 Domain Controller
..just like 9.1
Downloaded my 15-day trial of the latest and greatest and Acronis install fails.
Again.
What is going on here? Same error from both installation attempts:

It appears I can not get support for this either and I'm forced to visit the forums, so here I am.
I am a loyal Acronis customer from the early days and steered no less than 100 people to purchase Acronis products. I started at version 7 when this company was an upstart (contact me for registration/support info, Acronis) and here I am now..begging for a reason why this is happening throughout and old and a new version.
If I am going to buy this product for my enterprise, it must be as solid as any software I could possibly add to an enterprise domain controller. Installing *anything* is a no-no on a domain controller aside from a backup remote agent and, hopefully, Acronis. Backup exec works...Acronis does not.
I'm in awe that it failed, frankly. This is completely unacceptable.
I tried the COM+ service checks and VSS checks applicable to the 9.1 enterprise version - nothing works.
"Please help" is an understatement.

There must be more information in the MSI-Log....
You postet the result, but there must be one line with the real error which caused this result. In most logs is a free line after the error line and you can use "error" as keyword for a search... (or attach the complete LOG File...compressed of course)..

Volker

Jay,
Did you find a solution?
Ditto to your sentiments. We are having the same errors on attemted installs to 24 W2K3 SP2 machines. I have had a very hard time trying to explain /get an explanation from the "help" desk lines.

Yep - CPU speed was below the min system requirements for Acronis' software.
Acronis should support the level of hardware that the OS supports - we run Win2003 on these old systems just fine..MS says installation on a 533MHZ CPU is fine - I had a 733MHZ.. Acronis requires 1GHZ+ on a Win2003 server.
Why?
The speed of the CPU has nothing to do with the ability for Acronis to function, it would just do so more slowly. All I wanted to do was install the remote agent portion too.
Oh well - I was forced to use a solution from Symantec instead.
