Acronice True Image 2016 Boot Disk is bypassed at boot time

Thread needs solution

Build 6571

Acronis 2016 Boot Media (DVD) is not recognised at boot computer turn on, even though the DVD/CD drive is selected as first boot drive in the BIOS.

Other DVD/CD disks I have are recognised at boot time, so I am in a dilema as to why Acronice True Image 2016 Boot Disk is bypassed.

Rodney, try your bios one time boot or boot override menu so you can specifically see your boot options as available after the bios has kicked in and detected the attached hardware.

You may have a bad media burn and can try recreating on a new disc (or a new brand -  we've seen more than a few people who burned through stacks of DVD's only to find that using a different brand worked the first time).

Some systems only boot legacy mode from their DVD drives and your Win10 may have been installed as UEFI. If you have a 2gb UsB flash drive (or smaller or bigger), I'd create the bootable media directly to it and try a UsB boot of the Acronis media and see if your system works better with Legacy USB boot or UEFI USB boot.

Thank you Bobbo for your help. I have made a USB boot, and I have been able to boot from it. Many thanks for your help and advice. It is most appreciated.

Rod M,

Glad to help out.  I much prefer the USB option as it seems to be more compatible these days anwyay... a lot of tablets, ultrabooks and even laptops don't have access to a disc drive anymore.  For those tablests that only have a micro USB, you can get a micro to full size usb adapter and use it with a hub and basically run your laptop like a laptop after that too.
