Erroneous "Disk Full" message
Greetings to the Forum:
I do all my backups using the Acronis boot disk; I do not have Acronis resident on my machine because of stability and speed problems. The OS is Windows XP service pack 3.
The backups have gone smoothly until this evening, when I attempted to do another routine backup. The backup stalls half way with a "Disk Full" message. I am not backing up by sectors. The total used space on my hard drive (Drive C: the one I am backing up) is about 70 Gbytes. The drive I am writing to is empty, with 111 Gbytes shown as free space. I have even tried formatting this drive (drive E:) and running Acronis immediately after. I still get the "Disk Full" message.
I find it difficult to believe that the backup program cannot fit 70 Gbytes of data onto a 111 Gbyte drive. The amount of used space on my drive C: has not changed that much since my last backup, which created a backup file in the range of 50 Gbytes.
I am becoming very disenchanted with Acronis software. Any thoughts as to what is going on here?
Thanks,
Jim T.
