Acronis True Image 2014 Premium : Program (GUI) opens for 0.5 sec and closes, without further action
This program works smoothly, even under Windows 10.
Since a month, however, I get a daily message that the creation of the incremental backups does not work, as there is a shortage of space on my hard disk (which is a fact!)
To correct this problem, I removed old image files manually, using Windows Explorer.
However, if I want to start the Acronis Ture Image program, the GUI (graphical user interface) appears on screen for 0.5 seconds. after which the program closes again. This also happens when starting the Acronis Ture Image program, as being an administrator.
Using the version 2019 can be an answer, but looks to me 'an overkill' because my 2014-version was still working, was still sending me daily messages.
Who knows this problem and can possibly solve this problem?

@Steve,
I did a Repair Install (without a better result), and also a full uninstall/install (without a better result)
I understand your suggestion to upgrade to ATI 2019 ;-) - Thank you !
It's a pitty that upgrades (without additional functopnality) are not for free, so a user has to pay each 2-3 years again for the product he/she already bought / paid for ;-(
best regards, Patrick

Sorry, Patrick, but Acronis are primarily in business to create revenue and there is no additional revenue involved with giving away free upgrades for older products. There are significant changes between ATI 2014 and the latest ATI 2019, including introduction of new functionality with Acronis Active Protection for ransomware prevention, Notary etc. Perhaps the biggest benefit is in the support for newer hardware products such as NVMe M.2 drives, as well as support for the changes being introduced with new Windows Updates.
