Error Messages

Thread needs solution

I keep having issues with error messages followed by a message that backup was successful. For example, yesterday I did a backup, started manually, and when it was verifying I got an error message that it could not verify and said it might be caused by "poor media quality." (unfortunately I did not screen shot that message) I had two choices, retry or cancel. I tired retry a couple of times just to get the error message again. I came back this morning to see what happened and imagine my surprise to see that the program shows that it successfully validated last night.

So, I opened the log file and as far as I can tell it has a few errors but never successfully validated.

This issue, a backup that creates error messages but the summary shows it successfully validating, seems to happen to me repeatedly and makes me afraid that my backups may not be valid.

David, the log shows that the backup was created successfully but then there was an issue with reading back the .tib file on your F: drive during the validation process.

This can occur for a variety of reasons such as selective suspend for USB devices, USB cable issues, USB 3.x power demand on the port etc.  The log does not actually show that the validation completed successfully, only that the task was ended by a scheduled shutdown action.

The log does not actually show that the validation completed successfully

The  attached file, CaptureAcronis_summary.JPG which is showing up as a broken image now but shows up if you click on the link in the original post says "backup was successfully validated yesterday at 10:01PM"  This is precisely my problem. I cancelled the validate so I am pretty sure that it did not complete and the log file viewer doesn't show it as having completed but the Acronis True Image 2019 software shows that it was successful.

David, I can only suggest trying a manual validation for this backup, separate from the backup task itself.

Steve,

Thank you for trying. I am going to try that and contact support. I contacted Acronis with a similar problem (summary shows success but log file shows failure) with a write error on a backup before but got no solution.
