2010 won't load !

Thread needs solution

PCPro has this program on it's A list so I bought it and I've just downloaded the appwrapper from cleverbridge using IDM.

I'm running Windows XP Pro (32 bit) The install sequence seems to be running OK but, after about five minutes, I get and alert Window which says (I've attached a screenshot)

Runtime error!
Program: C\Program Files\TrueImageHome\TrueImage.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information

All that I've been able to get from 'Support' is an amazing pdf telling me about the Acronis support options but providing no links to 'Installation Support' which I'm supposed to have for 30 days after purchase.

Up till now I've used 'Ghost' but I'm migrating to Windows 7 and PC Pro says that 2010 will support some of the advanced Windows features so I'd like to persevere.

What should I do next

Register your serial number on the Acronis website and redownload the program from your Acronis account page.

That error sometimes appears when debugging links are left in the compiled program or the program download has been corrupted.

Some other things that can cause this error are - disk drives have had their drive letters changed - unlikely in your case).

In TI 10/11 and the Echo range this error could be caused by the backup locations entry becoming confused especially if the drive letters where the backup location was located were changed.

Now it might be that NSB uses a similar technique to the backup locations for it's timeline folder and subsequently you get this error message - note error messages and Acronis are notoriously unhelpful, they tend to point to a number of related and unrelated problems to the actual message.

On the Wilders message board one person reported the same problem as you and wrote about how they solved it.

As an addition I found Acronis have a KB article which suggests this could also be caused by having Outlook express on a system that also has Outlook (and presumably LiveMail) on it.

The answer in this case is to uninstall OE.
