ATI2015 - backups disappear from "my Backups"

Thread needs solution

Hello,

all of a sudden my Backups disappeared from "My Backups". There's just one Backup "Complete PC" which I didn't configure. Worked well till yesterday. The backups themselves are still there. But, when I tried
to do a "add new backup" strange things happen:

By selecting "New Backup" I get a message: "If You leave this window the current settings will be lost. Do You want to interrupt the configuration of the backup?" (translation from the originally german message).

By selecting "add existing backup" I get to select the backup to be used but after that nothing else happens.

The Acronis services (Nonstop backup, scheduler, sync agent) have be started.
I have of course rebooted windows already.

I am using Windows 7 (up to date), my Acronis Build is 6055.

Help, anyone? I thought I had stuff finally working and now that ...

Thanks,
Christoph

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem.

I took delivery of a new win 7 based PC a week ago. This replaced one on which I was using TrueImage 2009 under XP. I bought TI 2015 for the new PC to use for backing up the new machine and hoping to be able to restore backups from the old PC but, if not, I would use my TI 2009 recovery disk. I couldn't seem to locate any of the existing backups with TI 2015 so I began using the TI 2009 disk. I also created a new backup of my C: drive.

Then an update arrived (I guess 6055 but I'm not sure where to look to find the build No). Suddenly, all of my backups were there on the list, old and new. Problem solved, I thought. I have since been using TI 2015 to restore all of my old files and folders, with no problem ... until today. This morning TI 2015 crashed while I was preparing to restore one of the few remaining old folders. Now, when I run TI 2015, none of my backups appears on the list, not even the new one created with TI 2015. I can only add "Entire PC" as If I wanted to backup eveything. If I click on the "add existing backup" option at the bottom of the list, I can explore down through my existing backups but when I click on "ADD" TI doesn't add anything to the list (even with the new backup) and, of course, with no existing backups on the list, I don't get an option to restore anything. It's as if TI 2015 has stopped recognising any of the backup files as backups.

Looks like I'm back to my TI 2009 recovery disk to get back the rest of my old backups and, worryingly, I don't now seem to have a method for backing up my new PC.

Has anyone else encountered this problem and solved it?

Thanks,
E.

Update: I eventually reinstalled TI 2015 and my backups all reappeared on the list. I'm still finding that the backup and recovery of files and folders is, to say the least, unreliable. I really don't think I trust TI 2015 to provide a reliable backup capability.

Christoph,
I would restart the TI 2015 installation file (download if needed) and restarting the install file will offer you a repair option.

This may work but I found that using the repair option did not solve it for me and I had to resort to a complete re-installation of TI 2015.

the same happened to me today - all backup schemes disappeared and I cannot create any new. I looked for an Explanation in Acronis, but nothing to be found.
My conclusion: Acronis True Image very very unrelyable
WL.

I agree, Acronis TI 2015 is extremely unreliable.

After posting above, I encountered further major problems which convinced me that I could not continue to use Acronis TI 2015.  I uninstalled it and, having had the program for only a short period, claimed a refund on the basis that the program was simply not fit for purpose.

I now use one of the available alternative backup programs which, for almost a year now, has behaved faultlessly.

Fortunately, I uninstalled this idiotic software from my laptop. Acronis is completely useless and buggy software. Everybody must realize that after some time.

Disappearing backups was discussed in this link but the solution was for 2015.

Whether it will work on 2016, someone with the problem will need to do a test.
