Peer licensing question
I bought a Peer product. I get 2 licenses. One to upgrade the previous version on my computer. And a second one to do a new install on my wife's computer. In the email I got with the download locations, there were 2 separate downloads, and 2 separate license codes. In the email, the 2 were not identified as upgrade and full version. So, I picked one and installed it on my computer to upgrade my previous version. And it was the wrong one. It was the full version. So I recovered my machine to before I installed the wrong Acronis program, and then installed the upgrade with the other upgrade license code. Everything is fine there.
Now, when I downloaded the full version with appropriate licensing code on my wife's computer, it says "Too many activations". And it will not let me install anything but the "TRIAL" version on my wife's machine.
So, my question is, how do I get this activation thing straitened out with Acronis? They have warnings about long waiting times on phone, and chat help options. So...here I am on this forum trying to get some help. Anyone from Acronis Customer Service here who can assist me with this activation problem?
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks. I would expect the company to protect itself over the consumer. The chat is either way overloaded, or unavailable at this time. When I click on that option and get to the chat window, the only thing I see is a broken picture icon. And that never changes.
In hind sight, you are right about the way to install from the second computer. In searching the Guide for answers, I was not proficient enough to find that at the time. That is probably no longer an option. So I will just have to wait until the holidays are over and Acronis will maybe answer my email for help.
Thanks again,
Dave
*edit* Maybe the chat will only work in Internet Explorer. I'm using FireFox. I'll have to try that in I.E.

If they had thought this out really well, when you started the uninstall, it would have prompted you re moving the license. But I don't think the one-year product cycle allows the programmers enough time to construct the main opeation algrithms and the debug and test and construct the error handling.
There's an old rule in program: No matter how long you have to code, you'll spend 90% of writing the code and 90% if debugging and writing the error handling. ;)

Well, I found out chat works in I.E. but not Firefox. So I was able to get connected to chat, and the Indian guy talked me through fixing this issue. He really knew his stuff.
A programmer once told me that it's hard enough to write programs so that they work without having to add code to make it fail. Thanks for all the help.
