True Image 2013 and Intel RAID 1

I'm planning setting up a RAID 1 (Intel Matrix Technology) on Intel ICH10R with following configuration:
1. SSD (non-RAID) for OS (Win 7 64 bit)
2. 2x3TB HDDs as RAID 1 array

The SSD should be backed up by True Image 2013 (creating images which are saved on the RAID array).
My question now is the following: When I create a boot CD with True Image and want to recover the SSD image utilizing this boot disc, will the disc version of True Image recognize the RAID array correctly? My concern is that the disc version of True Image will not 'see' the RAID array (as one disc), but two seperate discs.

Is the Intel Matrix Technology fully supported by True Image 2013 (especially the boot disc version)?

Another question: I have two possibillities to create the RAID array: Just creating it in Windows with the Intel Storage software and creating it 'outside' Windows (CTRL+I while booting, create RAID array). Are there any differences between these to methods from True Image's ponit of view? Is one 'better' than the other?

I can't provide a technical answer to your second question, but my personal preference is to create a RAID array using CTRL+I while booting, and I can vouch that using that method will allow TI to see the array as a single disk, even when you boot from the TI boot disk. I have been doing exactly that for several years on the same ICH10R chipset you have. I am (almost) certain it would work just fine if you created the array within Windows too, I just haven't done it that way personally.

I can confirm this. I have used 2012 and 2013 with the ICH10R Southbridge in systems running RAID 0 and 1. The boot media detected both configurations as a single disk after the RAID was created using ctrl+I. In my case, the OS was installed on my array and images were saved to a a single disk. It is possible to recover the other way RAID 0 or 1 to a single disk (SSD) in your case.

Also, a failure of one disk in RAID 1 will not keep you from reading from or writing to a degraded RAID 1.... you just won't have the mirror until the failed disk is replaced and re-mirrored.
