Is True Image 2015 what I need?
Hello.
I have a Dell R710 Server with 2 small drives on it. They are in BIOS RAID 0 and the OS sees them as one single C: drive. I need to add drives but it blows away all the data in the process. I need to back up everything in an image, including the OS. Then I can expand my RAID, and bring it all back on to the C: drive.
I need to make the backup image 'bootable' (when I put it back the system boots again) without needing to reinstall windows etc. It seems like I can do this with the boot CD I make with Acronis, but It also looks like I can only make a disk clone from an eSATA drive, and not USB. My Dell doesnt have an eSATA port, it only has USB ports. Can I still make a bootable image to a USB drive or am I pretty screwed?
Thank you
Bob

When you clone, you create a disk. You couldn't clone your RAID 0 system disk to a USB disk, but you can image it to the USB disk. An Image is a file that contains all the information necessary to be restored on another disk. Clone = image + restore.
