True Image Home 11 - booting from Acronis CD/USB key - cannot find hard disk - error message E000101F4

Thread needs solution

Running Acronis True Image Home 11 - on a Samsung NC20 (Windows XP Home SP3).

When booting from a CD or from F11 option I get the message that Acronis True Image Home 11 cannot find any hard disk drive (errior message E000101F4).

I have seen the post on the Acronis forum: 4659 (http://forum.acronis.com/forum/4659): Acronis True Image 11 home don't recognise harddisk(s)

I can see from that post 4659 that there *might* be solution to this problem and that if a PM is sent to one of the Acronis moderators a ISO file will be provided with a fix.

I sent the PM but have not received a response. Alternatively, would any other user have a fix for this issue?

Hello Victor,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

First of all please check whether you are using the latest build of the program (Help -> About), it should be 8101. The latest builds has better hardware support under Acronis rescue media and probably solve the issue with hardware recognition. In case you are not using the latest build please download it from your account under registered products. Then recreate Acronis bootable disc and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists you may try the following workaround:

- Boot the computer from Acronis True Image bootable rescue disc (Full version);

- Hit F11 key after the "Starting Acronis Loader..." message appears and you get to the selection screen of the program;

- After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please add "acpi=off noapic" parameter (without quotes) to the end of the Linux kernel command line (so it will be "quiet acpi=off noapic");

- Click OK button.

If the issue persists please download ISOimage based on ISOLinux loader which I have sent you via PM. This ISO has better hardware support than usual one and it will certainly solve the issue you experience.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Running Acronis True Image Home 11 - on Windows XP Pro SP3 by motherboard Asus P7P55D-E Deluxe.
When booting F11 option to backup, I get the message that Acronis True Image Home 11 cannot find any hard disk drive (errior message E000101F4: Acronis True Image Home has not found any hard disk drives).
Please help!!!
Thankyou.

Hello Viet-Anh,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Acronis forum. I will definitely help you with this issue.

Most likely your motherboard came our after the last build of Acronis True Image 11 Home and our software does not have the newest drivers for it.

I will send you a private message with the download link for the trial bootable media for Acronis True Image 2011 Home. It will restore backups created with your version.

If it supports your hardware you can always purchase an upgrade for half the price of the full version.

Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.
